Genna Smyth is a Learning & Development Specialist on Uber's central Operations team, which supports the day-to-day functions of city teams around the world. Responsible for developing and scaling global learning programming for new and existing Operations employees, as well as providing support for their managers. Previously, she lead the marketing team for Uber Philadelphia. Before joining Uber, she worked in various industries, including stints in finance; internal operations; and human capital. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2008.

Mateo Bueno is the Director for Brand and Growth at Upwork where he leads marketing campaigns to boost brand awareness and platform adoption. He led the development and launch of Upwork Pro, the platform’s premium offering that provides vetted freelance talent to top clients. He has served as Director of Categories where he helped to build the category management team at Upwork and managed the programming category. Prior to joining Upwork, Mateo worked at Amazon as a category manager. He holds an MBA from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley and spends most of his free time in the mountains.

Michelle Appleberg is the Senior Manager for Customer Support and Operations at Upwork, where she manages agents, senior agents, team leads, and managers across thirteen countries in a 24/7 operation. Responsible for end to end customer support strategy and process implementation in phone, chat, and ticket channels. Previously, she led the Claims / Call Center for BCBS of Florida (BlueCard). Michelle attended Georgia Southern University and studied International Business.
